Diana Simon
Diana Simon is a mother, psychologist, and artist living in southern California. A self-trained artist, she has developed an interest in psychological subject matter and non-traditional painting techniques. Her work has been influenced by her disability; she was diagnosed with multiple autoimmune diseases in 2011.
Her artwork can take a critical view of social, psychological, and cultural issues, and often involves combining soothing patterns and jarring imagery to provoke an emotional response. While the subject matter of each piece ultimately determines the materials and the forms of the work, she gravitates largely toward watercolor and pencil.
